There's an art show starting in Venice, California, this weekend that's sure to give a giant nostalgia boner to anyone who was alive during the 1980s. It's called "The Road to Shermer: A Tribute to John Hughes" and it is, quite appropriately, being held at a place called Gallery 1988. There are 50 pieces in this show honoring the man whose brain invented such remarkable Americans as Ferris Bueller, Duckie Dale and John Bender, and each of them is AMAZING. The kind folks from Gallery 1988 have sent me a handful of the pieces that will be in the show to share with the world. My favorite--Max Dalton's wicked board game depicting the various misadventures of one Ferris Bueller--is above and below. There are 10 more in the gallery here. Have fun watching "The Breakfast Club" tonight. You know you're going to.
