While nobody would ever call Beavis and Butt-Head sophisticated pranksters, the duo clearly enjoys a good practical joke. During their glorious run in the '90s, the two idiots touched on most of the classic pranks--moonings, prank calls, ding-dong-ditch--in their efforts to piss people off.
To celebrate America's greatest holiday, April Fools' Day, we dipped back into the Beavis and Butt-Head archives to find their greatest pranks. What we found was not surprising: Their pranks almost always result in somebody getting injured--even if injury wasn't the original intent. Granted, that sums up many of Beavis and Butt-Head's antics, but when a prank is involved the injury just seems so much sweeter.
Now let's celebrate April Fools' Day with Beavis and Butt-Head's most classic, and often violent, pranks.
Prank Calls
The boys get a new phone book, and upon learning there's a listing for one Harry Sachs, they crank call him mercilessly. It turns out Harry Sachs is not a man to be trifled with and in the end, it's Stuart’s dad who gets a phone stuffed in the most uncomfortable of places in a case of mistaken identity. Cow Tipping
The fartknockers top off a night at the farm with a bit of cow tipping that doesn't end well for Beavis or the cow. WATCH HERE
Ding-Dong-Ditch
Beavis and Butt-Head try their darndest to execute the time-honored tradition of ding-dong-ditch but find the prank's moving parts to be a bit too much to master. So they return to their lair of headbangs and shame, where they find success ding-dong-ditching each other. WATCH HERE
Mooning Cars
A field trip provides the boys the opportunity to moon passing cars as the school bus negotiates a mountain road. Eventually Van Driessen, who gently admonishes the duo for their behavior, is tossed through the window of the bus and down into a deep gorge. Stupid Van Driessen.
Deep-Fryer Manipulation
Beavis and Butt-Head may not be the sharpest knives in the knife drawer, but give them a deep fryer, a rat and some assorted insects, and Mr. Anderson's French fries will get a little something extra. WATCH HERE
Pretending They're Dead
Beavis and Butt-Head's simplest and most unwitting pranks are always the most effective. Like the time that Beavis refused to 'fess up to his truancy and instead told the school secretary that he and Butt-Head were dead. Joy, reflection and mayhem all swept through Highland High as a result. WATCH HERE
Peeping
The not-so-dynamic duo sees a van a-rocking and snaps a photo of the amorous--and ugly-butted--love birds. Revenge is later visited upon the boys by a female with more than the normal amount of heft and body hair. WATCH HERE
The Great Cornholio
Yeah, it's probably more of a possession than a prank, but April Fools'--or any day, really--is the perfect time to celebrate the brilliance of the Great Cornholio.
