Twenty years after the show wrapped, "Hey Dude" is finally getting the DVD treatment. Watching it in 2011 is sure to cause some mixture of nostalgia and the depressing realization that, yep, that was 20 years ago. Christine Taylor, who played Melody (who every young "Hey Dude" fan had a crush on) will turn 40 this year. For those of you who still have a crush on her--she's married to Ben Stiller.
You'll have to wait until July 19 to get your hands on the DVD, but you can preorder it from Amazon today. Then when you finally get the disc, you can invite your friends over for the ultimate late '80s/early '90s dork session. Grab some slap on bracelets, perform a "Thriller" reenactment, wear some Reebok Pumps, play "Super Mario Brothers 3" and dine on some Ellios Pizza. Makes me teary just thinking about it.
