Rap geeks and hosts of "The Check-In" Eric and Jeff Rosenthal sit down with hip-hop stalwart Swizz Beatz. The brothers begin by serenading the rapper/producer/DJ. This goes reasonably well considering Swizz Beatz isn't quite sure what is going on. That doesn't mean the Rosenthals aren't talented vocalists; Swizz Beatz may just be tired from all his different gigs, which include notably "Producer in Residence" at New York University, fashion designer, shoe designer, and husband and father.
But then we get to the real meaty stuff. Swizz Beatz hasn't produced a solo album since 2007's "One Man Band Man," and for his upcoming "Haute Living" the artist has accumulated some amazing collaborations. Like, did you ever think Bono and Kanye West would guest on the same track? Well, Swizz Beatz made it happen on his song "Skyscapers."
Finally, the interview ends like all interviews should, with crazy stories about rapper DMX. Enjoy!
