MTV's "The Tom Green Show" was ahead of its time in many ways. It laid the groundwork for the crazy pranks of "Jackass" and "The Dudesons." It's titular host, Tom Green, opened TV talk show doors for other vaguely Greek comedians Andy Milonakis and Zach Galifianakis (well, at least in Zach's case, opened the door for a little bit).
But perhaps the most phenomenal example of how far ahead of its time the show was can be found in this clip right here, in which Tom Green invents the stupidest viral fad of all time 17 years before it actually caught on. Yes, Tom Green invented planking... in 1994.
