This might be news to some of you youngsters out there, but heavy metal wasn't always the angry carnival of shredded vocal cords it is today. No, there was a time when scrawny long-haired men wailed over speedy riffs and you could still hear hints of Led Zeppelin and Ozzy. Believe it or not, metal used to be fun.
Well, power metal outfit Sacred Oath is bringing back those halcyon days with the premiere of their new video, "Meet Your Maker," right here on Clutch.
"We had a ton of fun shooting this video," says singer/guitarist Rob Thorne. "We started in the '80s and we're proud to hang on to the fun side of that decade...smoke, haunted forests, aerial fire dancers, what's not to love?" Thorne forgot to mention the rest of the video's highlights, like chain-link guitar straps, drumstick spins, Flying V guitars and a blistering solo. Basically, everything awesome about old-school metal.
So for all you headbangers looking to fill the void in your hearts (and ears) left by the death of Ronnie James Dio, give the video a look and be sure to check out Sacred Oath on tour this fall.
