A lot of people, even old white ones, remember Sugar Hill Gang's "Rappers Delight" as the first mainstream hip-hop hit. We remember it as a big long commercial. Seriously, the song references brand names of everything from cars (Lincoln Continental, Cadillac) and sports teams (The Knicks) to hotel chains (Holiday Inn). Dropping product references in rap songs has been around ever since. And yet, companies are rarely smart enough to capitalize on it. So we've done it for them, mocking up seven advertisements for seven companies featuring rappers and lyrics that reference their products. Maybe this will finally get the suits to realize just how many more people would by Cookie Crisp if RZA's face was on the box.
RZA for Cookie Crisp

Gucci Mane for Huffy Bikes

Method Man for Lysol
