Stock car driver Kip Hughes doesn't need a stinkin' safety crew--he IS a safety crew!
The madness went down recently at the 2nd Annual Stock Car Nationals at Oklahoma Sports Park during the 50-lap feature race. One car gets bumped coming around a turn and spins out, causing Terry Muskrat's No. 3 car to get drilled by the 97 car. Immediately after the crash, Muskrat's car lights up like a Christmas tree and hysteria sets in because Muskrat becomes trapped in a burning vehicle that's overturned. With the safety crew attending the fiery car, track announcer Larry Carr, bless his heart, sounds a combination of frantic, hopeful and impressed.
Then out of nowhere is the winner of last year's event, driver Kip Hughes, who left his own vehicle. A gentleman and a badass. Watch the incredible scene unfold.
